Pointers: “Savage Run” is a great name for a wild place, but unlike the fictional “Savage Run” of C.J. Box’s book it wasn’t named as the canyon where “savages ran” for their lives, nor does it describe this tumbling little stream on its peaceful course. It is named after Richard, Walter and William Savage/5().   Although Savage Run is concepted as a multibook storyline you can read it on its own without needing to continue with the others, there are some minor loose ends but by and far the story is self enclosed. Savage Run can be mindless fun to read, and even though I personally struggled a bit with it for reasons I mention later on it is a fast read/5.   C. J. Box is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Joe Pickett series, five stand-alone novels, and the story collection Shots Fired. He has won the Edgar, Anthony, Macavity, Gumshoe, and two Barry awards, as well as the French Prix Calibre and a French Elle magazine literary books have been translated into twenty-seven languages/5(93). A richly textured novel, “Savage Run” is an exciting confirmation of the talents of a writer hailed by Tony Hillerman as “a great storyteller.”.

In his time, Stewie Woods was the most active environmental activist imaginable. No dirty anti-establishment trick, from spiking timber to disabling bulldozers, was beneath him. So when he and his bride become casualties of an exploding cow, their passing is doubly ignominious. And that's only the beginning of a series of equally inglorious deaths of tree-huggers. Woods biographer Hayden. Savage Run () A Joe Pickett novel from #1 New York Times-bestselling author C.J. Box. C.J. Box's debut novel, Open Season, with its memorable hero, thrilling plot, and vivid settings, was hailed by critics as "suspenseful" (New York Daily News), "fascinating" (USA Today), and "heartfelt" (The Washington Post Book World), "a high-countryPresumed Innocent that moves like greased lighting" (Kirkus Reviews).   Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett uncovers a conspiracy in this explosive novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling a massive blast rocks the forests of Twelve Sleep County, Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett is called to the scene to help investigate the death of a colorful environmental activist. The case is wrapped up quickly, explained as an environmental publicity stunt 4/5(17). C. J. Box - Savage Run. This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents are either the product of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, business establishments, events or locales is entirely coincidental.4/5(32).
